DR STAVROULA KALDI IS A PROFESSOR IN PEDAGOGICS AND INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS IN THE PEDAGOGICAL DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY EDUCATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALY, IN VOLOS, GREECE. SHE CARRIED OUT UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES AT THE ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALONIKI, GREECE (BA) AND UNDER A GREEK STATE SCHOLARSHIP SHE UNDERTOOK POSTGRADUATE STUDIES AT SUSSEX UNIVERSITY, UK (MA & PHD). SHE HAS EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN TEACHING AND RESEARCH IN HIGHER EDUCATION SINCE 2000 AND IS A MEMBER OF DIFFERENT GREEK AND INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS IN EDUCATION. HER RESEARCH INTERESTS INCLUDE CHILD-CENTRED INSTRUCTIONAL APPROACHES SUCH AS PROJECT-BASED LEARNING, CO-OPERATIVE LEARNING, DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION AS WELL PRE-SERVICE AND IN-SERVICE TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. HER RESEARCH IS PUBLISHED IN VARIOUS REFERRED INTERNATIONAL JOURNALS, CONFERENCES AND VOLUMES AND HAS NUMEROUS CITATIONS INTERNATIONALLY. SHE ALSO ACTS AS A REVIEWER IN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS.

DR HENNISSEN (PAUL) GRADUATED AS PRIMARY EDUCATION TEACHERS AND AS SECONDARY EDUCATION TEACHER IN ECONOMICS AND PEDAGOGICAL AND SOCIAL STUDIES. A KEY RESEARCHER AND ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION. AFTER HIS CAREER AS TEACHER, HE WORKED AS TEACHER EDUCATOR AND RESEARCHER IS SEVERAL (INTER)NATIONAL PROJECTS. PAUL IS A (INTER)NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED SCHOLAR IN THE AREA OF MENTORING. HE AND HIS TEAM HAVE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF (E-) MENTORING AND (E-) MENTORING TRAINING. THE RESEARCH BASED ON HIS WORK LED TO SEVERAL PUBLICATIONS IN INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC JOURNALS. FOR ONE OF THESE PUBLICATIONS THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF TEACHER EDUCATORS (ATE) AWARDED PAUL HENNISSEN AND HIS CO-AUTHORS THE 2009 AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED RESEARCH IN TEACHER EDUCATION.

SHE IS LEADER FOR THE RESEARCH GROUP TEACHER PROFESSIONALISM AND EDUCATION.

SHE RECEIVED HER PH.D. AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM, UK. HER RESEARCH INTERESTS INCLUDE TEACHER PROFESSIONALISM AND IDENTITY, TEACHER EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, CURRICULUM, ASSESSMENT, LEADERSHIP AND HIGHER EDUCATION. SHE HAS PUBLISHED EXTENSIVELY ON THESE TOPICS BOTH NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY. SHE IS PAST CHAIR OF THE INTERNATIONAL STUDY ASSOCIATION ON TEACHERS AND TEACHING AND PAST CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF EDUCATION FOR TEACHING. SHE IS CURRENTLY EDITOR OF THE EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF TEACHER EDUCATION AND EXECUTIVE EDITOR OF TEACHERS AND TEACHING THEORY AND PRACTICE.

Fatima Vieira is Assistant Professor in the Institute of Education of the University of Minho. She is PhD in Child Studies – Methodology and Supervision in Early Childhood Education at the University of Minho (Portugal). Her research interests are in the field of teacher education and professional development and childhood pedagogy.

TERESA VILAÇA

Teresa Vilaça is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Education in the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. She got a PhD degree in Education on the knowledge area of Methodology of Science Teaching (University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Research Centre on Child Studies.

Cristina Parente is Assistant Professor in the Institute of Education of the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. She got a PhD degree in Child Studies – Methodology and Supervision in Early Childhood Education (University of Minho, Braga, Portugal). She is an integrated member of the Research Centre on Child Studies.

Eva Fernandes is a grant holder at the project “Investigating the Effects of School Leadership on Student Results”. She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences, Specialisation in Curriculum Development at the University of Minho. JUANJO MENA IS AN ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SALAMANCA (USAL, SPAIN). HE COMPLETED HIS MASTER DEGREE (WITH HONORS) IN THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL & EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY IN 2004. HE OBTAINED HIS PHD WITH DISTINCTION AND SPECIAL MENTION OF “EUROPEAN DOCTOR” IN 2007. NOW HE IS TREASURER AND NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE ISATT. HIS RESEARCH FOCUSES ON TEACHING PRACTICE, TEACHER EDUCATION, MENTORING, TEACHER DEVELOPMENT AND ICT. HE HAS BEEN A VISITING SCHOLAR IN A NUMBER OF UNIVERSITIES IN THE NETHERLANDS, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, USA, FINLAND OR MEXICO. HE ALSO SPENT 5 YEARS AS A CLASSROOM TEACHER BEFORE JOINING USAL AS FULL TIME PROFESSOR. AT THE MOMENT HE IS AN AFFILIATE PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA (CANADA) AND RESEARCH COLLABORATOR AT THE KAZAN FEDERAL UNIVERSITY (RUSSIA).

TONY IS A PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CURRICULUM AND PEDAGOGY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA.  HE SPENT A NUMBER OF YEARS AS A CLASSROOM TEACHER IN AUSTRALIA BEFORE MOVING TO CANADA TO WORK WITH BEGINNING TEACHERS, CLASSROOM TEACHERS, AND UNIVERSITY INSTRUCTORS AT UBC.  HIS CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS INCLUDE PRACTICUM MENTORING, TEACHER INQUIRY, AND SCHOOLING IN COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVE.
